The Indian Accounting Association Research Foundation (hereinafter referred to as "the foundation") is a not-for-profit accounting organization headquartered in Calcutta.
It was founded during 1989-90 as a registered body under the societies Registration Act (West Bengal Act XXXVI of 1961.

The principle objectives of the foundation are :
To coordinate with other professional accounting bodies, universities and institutions in the matter of creation and dissemination of knowledge in accounting and related subjects.
To do such other things as may be necessary for realizing the goal of advancement of accounting knowledge.
